As it turns out, one day later the Sabres are still in the exact same spot, courtesy of the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals, and Anaheim Ducks.
Florida (66 points), Boston (66), and Philadelphia (63) all had a chance to put some distance between themselves and the Buffalo Sabres (and the Tampa Bay Lightning, currently tied with the Sabres) Wednesday evening. And all three of those teams blew their chances, to the delight of Sabres fans everywhere.
