Now that Deron Williams is in Dallas and Joe Johnson is clearly on the decline, the unquestioned star of the Nets is Brook Lopez. He will most likely lead the team in scoring, shotblocking, and maybe rebounding as well. Lopez is force on the offensive end and a terrific rim protector on the defensive end. However, is Brook Lopez an elite player?
Without a doubt, the Nets got a steal with the 10th pick in the 2008 NBA draft when they selected Lopez. Lopez was supposed to go higher, but he somehow slipped down to the Nets at 10, where they could not pass on him.
