The rumblings over the past few weeks have finally materialized. Brooklyn Nets assistant general manager Bobby Marks is out, according to his Twitter account (h/t to Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski):

After 20 years with Nets, assistant GM Bobby Marks (@jakecooper) has tweeted that he's parted ways with organization.

It's believed Brooklyn ownership is now determined to cut costs across board and staff cuts are underway. Marks is well-respected in league.

Brooklyn wasn't going to unload general manager Billy King after Mikhail Prokhorov mostly endorsed him only a month-and-a-half ago, but if the Nets were searching for some kind of scapegoat, they found one in Marks.
