Butler Debuts With Historic Hammer Throw Performance To Close Raleigh Relays

Final Results (.pdf) Raleigh, N.C. – Kaila Butler posted the second-best freshman hammer throw performance in BGSU Outdoor Track & Field history Saturday, placing third with a distance of 187-feet-4 on the final day of the Raleigh Relays Saturday.

In her outdoor track and field debut, Butler threw at least 180 feet in all six of her attempts, moving into fifth place in program history for all throwers. Only Jessie Rowland, a freshman in 2011, threw further in their introductory collegiate season among BGSU hammer throwers.

Butler's mark earned her a Mid-American Conference automatic qualifying mark, one of three for the Falcons on the weekend.
