Former Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland insists it’s too early to write off Loris Karius after his error-strewn performance against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Reds let a 3-1 lead slip through their fingers as the Cherries staged a miraculous comeback to win 4-3 thanks to an extra-time goal – with Karius' mistakes proving costly.

The German glovesman, who joined Liverpool in the summer and was immediately given the number one spot over Simon Mignolet, fumbled Steve Cook’s long-range shot and allowed Nathan Ake to poke in a dramatic winner in the second minute of extra-time.
