Bournemouth 2-0 Swansea City: Cherries ease relegation worries against struggling Swans

Bournemouth secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they eased their relegation worries against Swansea at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries followed up last weekend’s dramatic win over West Ham with another three points as Eddie Howe’s side moved nine points clear of the drop zone.

An own-goal from Alfie Mawson and a second half strike from Benik Afobe condemned the Swans to consecutive defeats and leaves the visitors in 17th place with nine games left to play.

Both sides were looking to get on top in the early stages, but it was Bournemouth, through Ryan Fraser, who came close with 10 minutes gone as the diminutive winger dragged a shot wide of a post.
