Red Sox promote No. 3 prospect Travis

This could be a short-term stay for Travis, with Boston currently down an infielder and Hanley Ramirez and Mitch Moreland already manning first base. But Moreland is only signed to a one-year contract, so Travis could potentially be the team's everyday first baseman in 2018 if he earns the job.

He was not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
