Red Sox ace David Price donates to build ballpark

The Boston Red Sox lavished David Price with a lucrative contract to lure in the prized free agent pitcher this winter, now he’s giving some of it back to the community he grew up in.

Price returned to his hometown of Murfreesboro, Tenn. to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of a new ballpark being built for disabled children. The Red Sox ace provided a generous donation of $300,000 to aid in the efforts of building this new park.

The new park located at the McKnight Park grounds will be called Miracle Field and is expected to open in the spring of 2017, according to a report from the Tennessean.
