ANAHEIM, Calif. -- There’s not a lot to be done for a broken toe, but the Red Sox are taking a stand.

Mitch Moreland was moved down in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels. He’s hitting just .163 with a .492 OPS since he broke his big left toe via a hit-by-pitch on June 13.

Manager John Farrell has stuck with Moreland, using him again out of the cleanup spot on Friday night. But he was moved to No. 7 on Saturday while also being taken off the field. He’ll be the designated hitter while Hanley Ramirez takes over at first base.
