John Farrell challenges Clay Buchholz: 'We've got to get him on track'

BOSTON -- It was an innocent request for manager John Farrell's evaluation of the Boston Red Sox after an April in which they went 14-10.

But Farrell used it as a chance to challenge Clay Buchholz.

"We've got to get Clay going, particularly," Farrell said after praising the cohesion of the lineup and the power arms in the bullpen. "He's an important part of our rotation, an important part of this team. We've got to get him on track."

In four years at the helm of the Red Sox, Farrell typically has been fiercely protective of his players, especially the veterans.
