Inside Jackie Bradley Jr.'s 27-game hit streak

This isn’t a light 27-game hitting streak from Jackie Bradley Jr. Since it began on April 24, he’s getting on base in 48.7 percent of his plate appearances, hitting .408 with a 1.272 OPS.

With one more hit, Bradley will be halfway to New York Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio’s record 56-game streak set in 1941, a year he finished with a .352 average. DiMaggio’s average during his streak was also .408.

It’s getting more difficult for Bradley as pitchers are beginning to pitch around him (he walked six times in the three-game series against the Indians), but he said he’s not paying attention to the streak, noting, “I won’t look into it, but I’m sure y’all will keep reminding me.
