Hanley Ramirez willing to play first base or DH for Red Sox

PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic -- Hanley Ramirez has come back here, to a resort on the eastern edge of his native country, to play golf and support the David Ortiz Children's Fund. But considering the guest list at Big Papi's ninth annual charity bash, Ramirez is in position to do some heavy duty recruiting for the Boston Red Sox.

Alas, according to the Sox first baseman, free-agent sluggers Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Bautista won't get to hear his sales pitch.

"I don't talk about baseball here because I think this is the time that you've got to relax," Ramirez said from the lobby of the Al Sol Tiara hotel and resort.
