Red Sox rookie outfielder Andrew Benintendi had to be helped off the field after injuring his leg while being tagged out on a double play in the seventh inning of Wednesday's game against the Rays.
With Boston leading, 3-2, Benintendi was on second with no outs after hitting a double, which advanced Travis Shaw to third. Dustin Pedroia hit a grounder to the shortstop, and Benintendi was injured trying to avoid the tag to get back to second base. Benintendi was able to stand, but needed assistance getting back to the dugout.
