After Sale deal, Red Sox won't rush to trade from starter surplus

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. -- It took all of nine hours Tuesday for the Boston Red Sox to fill both of their offseason roster needs and complete a blockbuster trade for ace left-hander Chris Sale.

Now, the waiting game begins.

The Red Sox almost certainly will trade one of their seven big-league starting pitchers, likely right-hander Clay Buchholz or lefty Drew Pomeranz, and they received calls from several teams before heading home from the winter meetings today. But as president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said, they are "not going to rush out and do anything.
