Boston College looked lively and dangerous in their home opener in Newton, but ultimately was unable to convert their possession and shots advantage in to goals, and had to settle for a 1-1 tie with Arizona State on Sunday.
The Eagles (1-0-1) had to dig themselves out from a first half deficit for the second straight game after giving up a fluky goal on a set piece in the 36th minute. Arizona State's Jazmarie Mader bounced a looping header over BC keeper Alexis Bryant to give the Sun Devils a 1-0 lead completely against the run of play.
