Key Moment

The scoreboard inside Madrid’s Barclaycard Center indicated a second straight blowout win for the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, but this contest had been far more competitive than the one the C’s had in Milan two night’s earlier.

On Tuesday, Boston had been in complete control from start to finish against EA7 Emporio Armani Milano during their 124-91 victory. But in Spain’s capital, Real Madrid brought early intensity and physicality to the table on Thursday, which was overshadowed by their 111-96 loss to the C’s.

The two teams traded baskets throughout the better part of the first half and found themselves knotted up, 35-35, with a little more than six minutes remaining in the second quarter.
