Here Are The 5 Teams Who Could Trade For Nick Foles This Offseason

Was Super Bowl LII between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles the greatest Super Bowl of all-time? The Eagles defeated the Patriots 41-33, on the shoulders of quarterback Nick Foles. Foles had a great game for the Eagles, passing for 373 yards with three touchdowns, one interception, and a receiving touchdown. This incredible passing performance ranks fifth for the most passing yards ever in a Super Bowl game and led to Foles winning Super Bowl LII MVP. With such an incredible performance from Foles, will the Eagles keep him or sell high? Quarterback Carson Wentz was an MVP candidate before suffering an ACL injury in their Week 11 win against the Rams and will be the starter if healthy in 2018.

Foles signed a two year $11 million contract with the Eagles in 2017, which means he will be a free agent in 2019. There are plenty of NFL teams in need of a quarterback for 2018 so teams may not want to wait until 2019 and trade for him this offseason. Foles is 29-years-old and will be a hot commodity after a Super Bowl MVP, here are the five teams that could trade for him this offseason:

5.) Buffalo Bills
The Bills QB situation was a roller coaster ride, but only because head coach Sean McDermott decided to bench quarterback Tyrod Taylor for fifth-round rookie Nathan Peterman in Week 11. Peterman went on to throw for five interceptions in the first half against the Chargers and McDermott was forced to put Taylor back in the game.  According to Spotrac, Buffalo has $30.9 million in cap space in 2018.

4.) Denver Broncos
The Broncos have the defense and if they believe they are a quarterback away from winning a Super Bowl, Denver may trade for Foles. The Broncos have $24.7 million in cap space in 2018 which may not be enough to land Cousins, however, on Wednesday, Colin Cowherd claimed the Broncos were close to a deal with Cousins. If the Broncos are targeting Cousins then, Denver will obviously not trade for Foles. If the Broncos miss out on Cousins because they can't compete with the money other teams could potentially offer him, Denver may turn their attention to trading for Foles.

3.) Cleveland Browns
The Browns have the second most cap space in the NFL with $102.5 million and this will be their trump card this offseason. If the Browns miss out on Cousins' because he wants to "win right away", Cleveland may target Foles. The Browns went 0-16 in 2017 and are 1-31 the last two seasons and a major reason is due to poor quarterback play. Will Foles be the savior in Cleveland?

2.) Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are an interesting landing spot for Foles considering Minnesota has three quarterbacks - Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater, and Case Keenum - all headed to free agency. The Vikings were able to work wonders with Keenum this season with a talented offensive core around him, this may persuade Foles to go to Minnesota. Yesterday Paul Allen of KFAN Minneapolis reported the Vikings are "number one with a bullet" on quarterback Kirk Cousins' wish list.  Cousins' interest in Minnesota may prevent the Vikings trading for Foles, however, the Vikings could go with the cheaper option in Foles.

1.) Arizona Cardinals
Arizona will be looking for a new quarterback after Carson Palmer decided to retire after 15 seasons in the NFL, his last five with the Cardinals. During new head coach Steve Wilks' introductory press conference, he was vocal about signing a quarterback.

“We’re going to have a very active and aggressive plan through free agency, and we’ll see exactly what’s going to happen within the draft,” said Wilks.

The Cardinals current cap space at $27.3 million according to Spotrac, which may take them out of the running for Cousins' this offseason, but it may lead them to a cheaper option, in Foles.
