The 3 Worst Draft Picks In Boston Celtics History

The Boston Celtics will have plenty of talented options on the board to choose from when they hit the clock at #16 in the 2015 NBA Draft, but as the franchise well knows, there's also plenty to be nervous about when it comes to potential draft busts lurking in the weeds. Here's our list of The 3 Worst Draft Picks In Boston Celtics History.

3. SF J.R. Giddens (#30 in 2008)

Boston's selection of Giddens at the end of the 2008 draft's first round was a surprise to many, especially seeing that the Celtics weren't exactly in need of a one-dimensional small forward with limited range. Instead of hitching their wagons to the likes of Mario Chalmers, DeAndre Jordan and Nikola Pekovic, they picked Giddens who played just 38 games in the NBA (27 in Boston) before exiting the league in an underwhelming ploof of smoke.

2. PF Jerome Moiso (#11 in 2000)

Rather than going with known quantities such as Hedo Turkoglu, Quentin Richardson, DeShawn Stevenson and Michael Redd, the dumpster fire that was the early 2000s Boston Celtics chose the little-known Moiso out of UCLA. Moiso was a wreck of turnovers and horrible free throw shooting from the get go, putzing around on the edges of Boston's rotation before being traded to Philly for a conditional first-rounder in 2003. All's well that ends well, but the now-French professional basketball player still makes Celtics' fans eyes twitch at the mention of his name.

1. SF Kedrick Brown ( #11 in 2001)

Remember the early 2000s dumpster fire we were talking about? Here's part two. Brown represents the Celtics' second-straight swing and a miss at #11 in as many years, shooting a horrid 34.3 percent from the field and a laughable 13.1 percent from three over his first two seasons, averaging just 2.5 points. The Celtics shipped him off to the Cavs in 2003 milliseconds after Cleveland said "OK," parting ways with a guy whose selection cost them a chance at a laundry list of game-changing talent (Tony Parker, Zach Randolph, Gerald Wallace and Richard Jefferson being the highlights).
