Yankees Projected To Win AL East
It's getting close to Spring Training and on Wednesday Baseball Prospectus published its projected standings. The Yankees greatly improved their roster this offseason with Stanton and 2017 Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge should only improve, which is why they are pegged to finish with a 96-66 record.

Prospectus expects the AL East standings to look like this by the end of the season:
Yankees: 96-66
Red Sox: 87-75
Rays: 84-78
Blue Jays: 78-84
Orioles: 69-93

Despite all the offseason moves, the Yankees still aren't the favorite in the American League. New York is projected to have the third most wins in the American League, the Cleveland Indians (97) and Houston Astros (99) are projected to have more.

Albert Abreu Appendix Surgery
According to NJ Advanced Media, Yankees pitching prospect Albert Abreu had appendix surgery on Wednesday. He is expected to have a full recovery and leave the hospital on Friday.

Abreu ranks as the 6th overall prospect for the Yankees and the 77th best in major league baseball.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said the club hopes Abreu can start working out in two weeks. "Regardless, it's going to push him back," Cashman said. Two weeks isn't a huge setback, however, pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Spring Training on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old will likely start his season with Double-A Trenton. He went 1-3 with a 4.19 ERA in nine starts at High-A Tampa and 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA in three appearances at Low-A Charleston last season.

Yankees Sign Shane Robinson
On Wednesday USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported, the Yankees have signed veteran outfielder Shane Robinson to a minor league deal worth $950,000 if he reaches the big leagues with a spring training invite.

The Yankees have a plethora of talent in the outfield, so it will be an uphill battle for Robinson to make the Yankees major league depth chart.

The 33-year-old is a career .226 hitter in the majors and has played in 436 games.
