Report: Celtics Will Send Jeff Green To Memphis For Tayshaun Prince, First-Round Pick

The Boston Celtics are nearing a deal that would send forward Jeff Green to the Memphis Grizzlies for Tayshaun Prince and a first-round draft pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

This marks the second big trade the Celtics have been involved in this month after sending Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks, furthering their intention to rid themselves of veterans in favor of first-round draft picks they can rebuild around.

Boston now has seven first-round picks in the next three years.

As for Memphis, they've now solidified their weakest position and greatly improved their offense, hoping to keep pace in the highly-competitive Western Conference.

Green is averaging 17.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in just over 33 minutes a game so far this season.
