Brad Stevens views the change as inevitable.
His children, 9-year-old Brady and 5-year-old Kinsley, have started dropping their R’s.
“They’re already doing it a little bit. It’s all part of the experience, I guess,” the Celtics coach said of how local culture has taken hold of his Indiana family. “My wife and I laugh about it, and then we realize we probably have an accent to people here. However you say water, we get the point.”
Stevens is now two seasons into his first job outside Indiana, and he appreciates the changes. Now that he’s hooked on New England seafood and several favorite Italian restaurants in the North End, he would like to really explore.
