On today's show, Babcock and I sort through the aftermath of Sunday's Giants/Patriots matchup. Babcock, on the one hand, is beside himself due to the sorry state of the Patriots' defense. He's also dealing with the emptiness that accompanies the championship window closing and the impending Bradyless, Belichickless mediocrity that is just around the bend. I, on the other hand, am left feeling pleasantly surprised by where the Giants are at the halfway point. However, at the same time, I've learned to guard my feelings carefully with this group. It's all messy. It's difficult to articulate. And, most likely, it will all turn out to be much ado about nothing when the season ends with teams we expected at the top and bottom and our teams somewhere in the middle.
