Chat New England Podcast, Episode 10: The Heat Is On.

The NFL is still locked out, but hopefully this can serve as some consolation.  The Chat New England Podcast is back.

Babcock and I returned to action this morning, focusing on NFL free agency.  In today's episode, we break down the Patriots and Giants free agent situations.  Will Logan Mankins be back in New England?  After Ahmad Bradshaw, who will the Giants make a priority?  We then delve in to some of the big name free agents across the league.  Will DeAngelo Williams and John Fox be reunited?  How badly does Minnesota need to resign Sidney Rice?  What's the latest buzz on the landing spot of Nnamdi Asomugha?  Does Randy Moss have another "eff you" season in him?  Other topics include quarterbacks we expect to be moved and whether or not the NFL should have a franchise tag.

You may notice this episode is about 2 hours long.  That is because after our free agency talk, we take a short break, and then hold a draft for a season long competition that we call the TGE (Transcontinental Gridiron Extravaganza).  We'll explain the rules, and then make our picks.  We'll update the TGE standings every week once the season begins.

Finally, if you can make it through the whole 2 hours, you'll hear me tell the greatest joke of all time at the end.

Please download us on itunes (search: "Chat New England") and make our show a part of your routine today.  Listen in the car, listen at the beach, listen at the gym (we discuss the benefits of this on the show today), listen on an airplane, listen to it anywhere you can bring your portable audio device.  We think there's value in every second of these 2 hours, and we'd hate to think of you just sitting in one place that whole time.

We've got three musical segments.  You'll hear the Scissor Sisters, the Drive By Truckers, and Blind Melon covering the Velvet Underground.

Thanks everyone for listening.  It's great to be back.

Here is this week's humble offering:
