Celtics News: Rajon Rondo Addresses His Free Throw Problems, Won't Change His Style

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has had an abysmal start to the year from the free throw line, coming into Sunday shooting 32.1 percent from the charity stripe.

“Most of them hit the right/back side of the rim. I don’t have an answer right now,” he said, via the Boston Herald. “It’s about practice. I’m looking at my follow through. All of my misses have been the same, so I’ll be in the gym again tonight and continue to work.”

Rondo isn't ready to pull out the underhand shot like Rick Barry, nor will he talk to the ball like Karl Malone.

“I haven’t thought about talking to myself,” Rondo said, smirking at the idea. “I just think about continuing to work, spending more hours in the gym if I have to. Not just the free throws. I’ve missed a lot of fourth-quarter shots I usually make. I have to work on those shots as well."

In the end, Rondo isn't about to change the way he plays because of a slow start at the line.

“I still want to get fouled. I try to get fouled,” he said. “I can get into a better rhythm, but it’s not mental. I’ve been in the paint trying to get rebounds, trying to stay aggressive. My game is driving. That’s what I do best.”
