In today's look into Celtics rumors surrounding the 2014 NBA Draft, one noted publication has the Boston Celtics selecting Julius Randle with the sixth overall pick - despite questions about potentially needing surgery on his right foot.
Firstly, here's Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times with why he feels the Celtics will take Randle if he's still on the board at six: "The Celtics begin their refurbishing project — up to 10 first-round picks over the next five years. Randle has a physique like Zach Randolph and his same double-double game but has done it all on a foot that recently raised questions because of a high school injury."
Randle has denied that his foot is in such dire shape that it will require surgery, indicating that he feels an NBA team could have planted that rumor in order to get his draft stock to fall.
Regardless, Randle is as close to NBA-ready as anyone in the draft and could very well provide an instant spark for the team during the 2014-15 NBA season.
