Detroit Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser found that out the hard way in the Wings' 1-0 Game 1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Friday, when the Bruins' Milan Lucic welcomed him to the playoffs with a spear to the tender parts (thanks to iminus.com and the NBC Sports Network):
Danny DeKeyser was speaking normally as of Saturday morning. The only thing that changed was Milan Lucic's bank account ledger, which took a $5,000 hit after the NHL levied a fine on him this morning.
“It was kind of a heat of the moment thing when you’re not thinking and you do something like that,” Lucic said in a Detroit Free Press article by Helene St. James.
“I’ve been in the league for seven years and I think I’ve only done that three times. I don’t know why I did it."
