Bruins Foundation To Donate $90,000 In Grants To FRAXA Research To Fund Fragile X Syndrome Research

Boston, MA – The Boston Bruins Foundation has pledged a $45,000 grant to FRAXA Research, a nonprofit organization supporting scientific research for treating and ultimately curing Fragile X syndrome, for 2015 and another $45,000 grant for 2016. The $90,000 total donation is one of the largest donations in FRAXA’s 21-year history. The award will enable the organization to fund an entirely new research project aimed at developing new treatments for Fragile X.

Bruins alumni and current Bruins Foundation Executive Director Bob Sweeney will present the initial check to FRAXA Founders Michael Tranfaglia and Katie Clapp at 11:45 AM on Thursday, May 28 at the Shared Living Collaborative’s Gateway Farm in Merrimac, MA (43 Highland Rd.
