Boise State held its second football scrimmage of the fall behind closed doors Friday night, focusing on situational work, including red zone, long fields and the 2-minute drill.
Coach Bryan Harsin said “the mindset was good ... the situations, I thought we were pretty good.”
But most noteworthy after his discussion of the scrimmage with the media was an update on the status of a few players.
Harsin said sophomore running back Alexander Mattison, the presumed heir to the starting role, has been out of practice recently. It does not appear to be a disciplinary reason.
