Big Ten Football: News, Rumors and Recruiting Heading Into Week 5

Week 5 of the college football season provides our first real weekend of Big Ten conference play. Except for Penn State and Rutgers, as those two teams played earlier this season. But for the rest of the teams, this is the first week of the start of the "real" season.

In conference play, Michigan State hosts Purdue, Wisconsin hosts Iowa and Northwestern hosts Minnesota. All three of the home teams in that game are ranked. Nebraska travels to Illinois in the only conference game that fails to feature a ranked team. Ohio State hits the road to play Indiana and Michigan heads to face Maryland.
