In a relatively tough test against the embattled Creighton Bluejays, Villanova shut down the Jays in the final 5 minutes of the second half to win the regular season BIG EAST title and honor their seniors at the Pavillion with a momentous win.
Though Villanova managed to open up a sizable lead in the first half off some terrific play by Eric Paschall and Jalen Brunson, the Jays fought back with excellent play from Marcus Foster and Khyri Thomas, evening the score out at halftime and putting a bit of pressure on the second ranked Wildcats.
