Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes II normally can’t eat much after games. The adrenaline is running too high.
But Saturday, after attempting a Big 12-record 88 passes, throwing for an FBS-record 734 yards and accounting for an FBS-record 819 total yards of offense, Mahomes needed the calories.
“I wasn’t terribly sore,” he said.
But he was plenty hungry.
So late that night he went out with his family and devoured a hamburger with a fried egg. Then for lunch the next day he demolished a ribeye with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese on the side.
