Zachary Orr has always taken a positive outlook toward life.

So when he recently found out that he could no longer play collision sports due to a rare neck condition which puts him at potential risk of becoming paralyzed, the 24-year-old sought only the positives.

"It's a blessing I've been able to play this game so long without any major injury happening," Orr said at a press conference on Friday morning announcing his retirement. "When one door closes, another one opens."

Orr faced adversity right out of North Texas as he was passed over in the 2014 National Football League Draft.
