The grievance filed by former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice following the release of a video showing a domestic violence incident involving his now-wife, Janay Rice, has been settled, per NBC's Pro Football Talk.

Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun had reported earlier that hearings were scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Rice's wrongful termination grievance suit, NFL system arbitrator Shyam Das was slated to hear from both sides with Rice seeking more than $3.5 million in back pay from the Ravens.
Rice was initially suspended for two games as a result of the aforementioned incident. After a second, more graphic video, was leaked to the public, Rice's contract was terminated by the Ravens and the league suspended him indefinitely.
US District Judge Barbara S. Jones would later overturn the suspension, but no NFL team would sign Rice for the remainder of the 2014 campaign.
In the wake of the grievance settlement, ESPN has released this statement from Rice on the matter:
I would like to thank Judge Barbara Jones, the NFL Players Association, my attorneys, agents, advisors, family, friends and fans—but most importantly, my wife Janay. I made an inexcusable mistake and accept full responsibility for my actions.
I am thankful that there was a proper appeals process in place to address this issue. I will continue working hard to improve myself and be the best husband, father and friend, while giving back to my community and helping others to learn from my mistakes.
Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk notes that, while it's likely money changed hands in this settlement, the public may never be privy to just how much Rice was paid to finalize the deal.
