2014 NFL Draft: Baltimore Ravens Select CJ Mosley

With the 17th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens have selected CJ Mosley out of Alabama.

Position: Inside Linebacker

Measurables: 6’2”, 234 lbs, 33 3/8” arm length, 10 ¾” hands

Mosley had a breakout 2013 campaign at inside linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide, winning both the Butkus Award for the nation’s best linebacker, and the coaches’ SEC Defensive Player of the Year award. He posted 108 tackles with nine for a loss, along with five passes defensed and a forced fumble. Mosley timed out at 4.40 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle at the NFL Combine, along with showcasing a 35-inch vertical leap.

Mosley is instinct-driven, showing intense urgency and downfield momentum in pursuit of the ball. He uses solid balance and lateral agility to secure top tackling positioning, and uses very solid follow-through when driving through ball carriers. Mosley is a field-leader, and also shows intense dedication to his craft in the weight room. He shows the same dedication in the film room, exhibiting great character traits both on and off-the-field.
