Orioles infielder/outfielder Steve Pearce isn’t in the starting lineup Friday, the fifth time in six games in which he has not started.
Pearce said he is perfectly healthy -– he just has felt lost at the plate and has been given time to work out his hitting woes by Orioles manager Buck Showalter.
“I’m just struggling,” Pearce said. “I haven’t been playing good baseball. I understand that. It’s not like I’m mad I’m not in the lineup, because there is stuff I have to work on. I’ve been getting into too many bad habits and they are taking over during the game.
