Somebody asked Orioles outfielder Adam Jones what he thought of the Twitter storm earlier this week involving Hall of Famer Jim Palmer and Red Sox DH David Ortiz, perhaps because Jones has some experience with social media controversy.
“I don’t think Jim should have went that route,’’ Jones said. “He’s a Hall of Famer. I mean, he doesn’t need to speak on anything like that.”
Palmer and Jones had a friendly conversation about Twitter a little later and Palmer seemed to agree with Jones that there are times when discretion is the better part of valor when it comes to interacting on the internet.
