The Orioles placed infielder Ryan Flaherty on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain Friday and recalled 25-year-old in fielder Rey Navarro from Triple-A Norfolk.
Flaherty, 28, hit .300 with two homers in nine games this year for the Orioles. He injured the groin while running into second on the last out of Wednesday’s game in Toronto.
Flaherty has been on the DL only one other time in his career, his rookie year in 2012, when, as a Rule 5 player, was placed on the DL with a virus.
