BLOOMINGTON – The Big Ten is organizing a basketball tournament unlike any it has ever hosted, so it’s getting a schedule unlike any it has ever made.
This year’s conference men’s and women’s basketball schedules, released Wednesday afternoon, were built under the duress of multiple facilities conflicts, a new media partner, a Super Bowl and — on the men’s side — a league tournament that’s been shifted up a week to accommodate the move to Madison Square Garden.
“It’s an unusual schedule,” said Mark Rudner, the Big Ten’s senior associate commissioner for television administration.
Rudner speaks from experience.
