The cost of being great: Wapahani's postseason run was expensive

SELMA, Ind. — The day before Wapahani's baseball team played in state, athletic director Matt Luce made an important trip to Victory Field.

Thursday morning, he drove to there to pick up 200 more pre-sale tickets for Wapahani's game against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter. He knew the Raiders had an impressive fanbase, but even he wasn't expecting the demand for pre-sale tickets to be so high.

On the previous Wednesday, Wapahani sold out its 300 pre-sale tickets in just 50 minutes. The 200 Luce picked up on Thursday? Gone in 30 minutes.

"They were ready," Luce said.
