Rossi kicks Marquez, penalized; Pedrosa wins

SEPANG, Malaysia -- Championship leader Valentino Rossi will start the final race of the Moto GP season from the back of the grid after being penalized for kicking Marc Marquez during the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Dani Pedrosa won in Sepang, 3.6 seconds ahead of Jorge Lorenzo, who is seven points behind Rossi with one race remaining. Rossi finished third.

Rossi appeared to kick out at Marquez as the duo jostled for third place on lap seven, with Marquez crashing out of the race.

Rossi was given three penalty points when race officials reviewed the incident.
