AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn outside hitter Brenna McIlroy was named the SEC Volleyball Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.
McIlroy, a native of Garland, Texas, had a spectacular collegiate debut, earning MVP honors at last weekend’s War Eagle Invitational while leading Auburn (3-0) to the tournament title. In three matches, she racked up 45 kills (3.21/set), including a match-high 17 against Stephen F. Austin and 18 versus Jacksonville.
McIlroy also had double-doubles in each of her first two matches, posting 11 digs in the SFA match and 13 against Jacksonville.
