SAN ANTONIO – Junior Kelli Murphy shot under par for the third time in her last four rounds, and the Auburn women’s golf team finished round one in a tie for fifth place Sunday at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational.
Murphy recorded a 1-under-par 71 to lead the Tigers in the opening round, and she is tied for ninth in the individual standings. She is a collective 8-under-par in her last four rounds, dating back to the start of the Pinehurst Challenge two weeks ago. In Sunday’s round, she put together a flawless front nine with two birdies, then got to 3-under with a birdie at the 12th.
