Auburn falls to LSU in tough road match

AUBURN, Ala. – Freshmen Taylor Russo picked up her 13th win of the dual-match season, but No. 5 Auburn (18-4, 2-3 SEC) fell to No. 27 LSU (11-4, 4-2 SEC), 4-3 on Sunday in Baton Rouge, La.

“We are a good team and we are fighting in the best conference in the country,” Auburn head coach Lauren Spencer said. “We have to return home and regroup to find was to win these tough matches.”

Russo improved to 17-6 (3-1 SEC) on the 2016-17 season, defeating LSU’s No. 83 Ryan Foster in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 on court two.
