Tata Martino gave an update on Josef Martinez’s injury status today after training. Atlanta United’s leading scorer still has a few weeks left on the sideline and have not figured a return date as of yet.
“He keeps getting better day by day. He still has a few weeks left.,” Martino said. “We don’t have a set return date as of yet. We want to be prudent and not rush him back.”
Atlanta United’s leading scorer has missed the last four games with an injury suffered during the most recent international break. With the success Atlanta United is having without Martinez, there’s no need to rush him back, but ideally, you’d like to see him return before key match-ups, such as the Portland Timbers on May 14.
