Ambrose, Tambakis loaned to Charleston Battery for USL opener

Mikey Ambrose and Alex Tambakis have been loaned to Atlanta United’s USL affiliate Charleston Battery ahead of the opening game of their season.

Tambakis was a key member of the Battery’s 2016 roster, earning six clean sheets and notching 20 starts. He was a part of Atlanta’s matchday squad against Chicago this past weekend, and so far has been seen as back up to Alec Kann in goal.

Mikey Ambrose played for the Battery in their first game of the Carolina Challenge Cup, but initially returned to Atlanta for the MLS season. He’ll most likely deputize at left back for Obrien Woodbine, who was suspended for the first three games of the new season after being sent off in the playoffs last year.
