Falcons Making Progress On New Deals With Desmond Trufant & Devonta Freeman

Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff told Sirius XM NFL Radio (via The Sporting News) that they should have a long-term contract in place with CB Desmond Trufant very soon” and they’re “confident that something can get wrapped up” with RB Devonta Freeman in the coming months.

Reports have said for weeks now that the Falcons were close to reaching an agreement Trufant on a long-term deal, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Trufant’s next contract is expected to pay him between $12-$14 million per year, which is close to the five-year $75 million deal Josh Norman signed with the Redskins last year.
