2014 NFL Draft: Atlanta Falcons Select Ra'Shede Hageman

With the 37th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons have selected Ra'Shede Hageman out of Minnesota.

Position: Defensive Tackle

Measurables: 6’6”, 310 lbs, 34 ¼” arm length, 10 ¼” hands

Ra’Shede Hageman was the Minnesota Gophers’ team MVP in 2013, as the mammoth defensive tackle posted 38 tackles (with a team-high 13 for a loss), along with picking up two sacks, eight passes defensed, his first career interception, and a couple of blocked kicks on special teams duty. Hageman benched 225 lbs a resounding 32 times, along with showing sneaky quickness for his frame with a 4.50 second time in the 20-yard shuttle.

Hageman’s has the length and natural power to make him an instant starter on most NFL teams, exploding off the ball with all 310 pounds of his force coming behind him. Hageman is a vicious tackler with solid footwork and knows how to work both the interior and exterior of an offensive line. With his frame and natural athletic ability, Hageman shows flashes of elite ability when he keeps his fundamentals in mind and his energy level up.
