MILWAUKEE -- When National League teams opt to carry just a four-man bench in order to have an extra reliever, managers are sometimes forced to get creative during games.
Add in an injury to a starting position player, and that's when things can get really interesting.
Under those circumstances, Braves manager Brian Snitker has opted to use starting pitcher Julio Teheran as a pinch-hitter and a pinch-runner in each of the past two games, respectively.
Teheran struck out in a pinch-hit appearance in Atlanta's 7-5 victory over the Mets on Wednesday and pinch-ran for catcher Tyler Flowers and scored the tying run in the eighth inning of a 10-8 win over Milwaukee on Friday.
