Braves Rumors: Gavin Floyd to be activated Sunday, to bullpen?

In Braves rumors tonight, starting pitcher Gavin Floyd will be activated off the disabled list on Sunday -- with many signs pointing to the veteran starting pitcher landing in the bullpen instead of back in the rotation.

According to David O' Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "manager Fredi Gonzalez said the Braves wouldn’t announce Gavin Floyd’s role until the pitcher was activated from the disabled list Sunday, but there was a possible indication the veteran starter could be headed to the bullpen for the time being."

This may be due to the fact that manager Fredi Gonzalez is unwilling to pull young lefty Alex Wood out of the rotation in fear of messing with Wood's rhythm and the team's plans going forward --

“Maybe another month from now you put (Wood) in the bullpen for a month or a couple of weeks to slow him down a little bit,” Gonzalez said, making reference to both a potential innings-limit on Wood and the possibility of moving him back to the bullpen.

“But right now I’m not even thinking about that.”
