Braves News: Braves happy about MLB transfer rule change

In Braves news tonight, the Atlanta Braves are happy with changes to the MLB transfer news announced on Friday.

According to Carroll Rogers of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, "Major League Baseball announced Friday that its rules committee had re-interpreted the “transfer rule” and was going back to defining a catch as a catch - no longer penalizing the fielder if he drops the ball on the transfer."

“It is good news,” the Atlanta Braves' Dan Uggla said in Rogers' article. “Some things are just better left the way they are, that being one of them.”

Manager Fredi Gonzalez was also happy that Major League Baseball decided to expedite the changes, rather than wait till after the 2014 MLB season:

“I think they realized that it was not working the way they wanted it to work, so why not change it?” Gonzalez stated.

“We have that capability or the power to do it. I applaud Major League Baseball for doing that. They said, ‘Ok, wait a second, let’s not get carried away with this, and let’s change it.’ Get it back to a normal transfer and hopefully we don’t have to worry about that anymore.”
